The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Thursday announced a mop-up examination scheduled for 18,000 selected candidates across the federation.
The PUNCH learnt through a statement released on the board’s website that the decision to reschedule the mop-up examination was due to the fact that thousands of candidates were unable to write their examinations due to the inability to secure the mandatory National Identity Number.
However, a statement released on the website of the board has revealed that candidates with genuine reasons for missing the examinations would be given a chance on the 6th of August .
The statement reads, “Following a detailed investigation and careful analysis of the highly-successful 2021 UTME, and with due consultation (resulting in gracious concession) with the National Examination Council concerning the timetable of the council’s ongoing SSCE, JAMB has scheduled a Mop-up UTME for Friday, 6th August, 2021, in some selected locations across the nation.”
